Facilities and Activities

All bathrooms and toilets have disability aids fitted for comfort and safety, enabling you to maintain your level of independence and privacy. There is a passenger lift to access the upstairs bedrooms in Rose Cottage and wheelchair access to all areas.

We operate an open visiting policy for relatives and friends wanting to see resident, provided of course that the resident is in agreement. This can either take place in the communal lounges or in private in the resident’s own room. If any relatives/visitors wish to stay for meals during their visit they are very welcome to do so but we would ask that this be notified to the Manager/Nurse in Charge beforehand for catering purposes.

Chiropodist and hairdresser services are available and these are charged for and Tea and coffee are freely available throughout the day.

Smoking and Alcohol

The Home has designated smoking area. With regard to alcohol, Service Users will normally make their own arrangements, but, with smoking residents may need to be supervised.

Monday- Friday there is an activity organiser that posts up daily activities within the home. The activities vary from games, outings, pampering, exercise, arts and crafts, Karaoke, music, dancing, films, bingo and reminiscence. These activities could be in a group or one to one as in accordance to the individual service user’s needs. We also have church services monthly with in the home.

Musical entertainment is held in the home at least every two months; more for special occasions.

Therapeutic Activities

Each Service User has an Activity Programme that is planned with them and takes into account the Service User’s interests, skills, experiences, opportunities available and their individual objectives.
